Korean Air to be the first convert airline with the 2nd floor

After being listed on 9 in our top 10 best first class airlines, Korean Air is all set to hit another milestone. Korea’s largest flagship air carrier has announced plans to convert the 2nd floor on its A380 into business class, with as many as 94 prestige class seats, making it the first in the act. The first of these first A380 aircrafts will come into operation by May 2011, which will be followed by nine additional planes in the fleet by 2014.
A spokesperson for the airline said “Through the introduction of A380s, we will be able to better cater to the diverse needs of our customers and improve the status of Incheon International Airport as an air travel hub in Northeast Asia. Besides 94 prestige seats, the airplane will have 12 first-class and 301 economy-class seats, totaling 407 seats.’’
